Capt Dukic

I am extraordinarily pleased to announce that we promoted Capt Ivona Dukic on Friday, 4 May, at the Naden Wardroom.

Cdr Allan, the BADMO, was on hand to give the promotion. We also had the entire BPSO team and one of Capt Dukic’s friends there to help celebrate. We toasted her promotion with some champagne and it was a wonderful occasion and I don’t think I have ever seen someone more excited to receive their promotion.

LCdr Kathryn Hodgson Supports Sailors for a Cure

Hello Everyone,

Today was the big day in shaving off my hair in support of Sailors for a Cure. Attached is a photograph of me with Petty Officer Bruce Bevil. Bruce is the man behind Sailors for a Cure, a cause he created in support of his sister-in-law who has been battling cancer for the past 9 years. All funds raised in the name of Sailors for a Cure are directly donated to one of two registered charities; Wellspring and Canadian Cancer Foundation.

By the time my hair was buzzed off this morning, we raised a total of $2072.39 towards the head shaving. I cannot thank you enough for your wonderful generosity and support. Also, after the head shaving, I received numerous words of thanks from both organizations and from Bruce’s family and I want to pass their gratitude on to you. YOU have had a dramatic impact on the lives of many. You may never see it, but with all your heart, know that you have made a difference.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart,

Kathryn
